Liberty Swimming & Diving Head Coach Jake Shellenberger has released the Lady Flames’ 2015-16 schedule. The Lady Flames will make their first-ever trip to Texas, and will face several major conference opponents during the regular season.

Liberty is scheduled to meet two teams each from the ACC (Georgia Tech, NC State) and Big Ten (Penn State, Rutgers), along with TCU of the Big 12. In addition, the Lady Flames’ schedule contains three opponents which scored points at the 2015 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship. Each of the remaining top seven finishers from the 2015 CCSA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship also appears on Liberty’s slate this season.

The Lady Flames, who placed second at the 2015 CCSA Championship, will compete in 12 regular-season meets, including the mid-season Rutgers Invitational.

Liberty competes at conference opponent Campbell on Sept. 26, opening the season against the Camels for the second year in a row and the fourth time in program history.

The squad begins October with a tri-meet hosted by Georgia Tech, Oct. 2. Georgia Tech will host the 2016 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships in March. The Lady Flames will also face Penn State while in Atlanta. The Nittany Lions finished 20th at the 2015 NCAA Championships.

On Oct. 9-10, the Lady Flames will contest two meets in Texas. Liberty begins the weekend with a meet against TCU and CCSA foe Incarnate Word, in Fort Worth. The team then heads to a quad meet at North Texas, where Liberty will also meet Incarnate Word and New Mexico State.

Liberty wraps up the fall dual meet slate at James Madison on Oct. 17, before competing in the Rutgers Invitational, Nov. 19-22.

For the sixth season in a row, Liberty will ring in the New Year in Fort Myers, Fla. On Jan. 9, the Lady Flames are scheduled to compete in a quad meet hosted by 2015 CCSA champion FGCU. NC State, last year’s 17th-place finished at the NCAA meet, along with 2015 NEC champion Central Connecticut State, are also slated to be part of the meet.

The Lady Flames then host their lone home meets at LaHaye Aquatic Center. Liberty welcomes Campbell to Lynchburg on Jan. 15, while hosting UNC Asheville on back-to-back days, Jan. 16-17.

The regular season closes with a quad meet at Davidson, Jan. 22-23. CCSA opponents Gardner-Webb and Georgia Southern will also appear at the meet.

The Lady Flames will aim to return to the top of the conference for the first time since 2014, at the 2016 CCSA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships. The conference meet will take place, Feb. 17-20 at Georgia’s Gabrielsen Natatorium.

The 2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships will be held in Atlanta, Ga., March 17-19.
