Leo de Deus and Sergii Frolov Halt China Gold Rush At 7th Military Games, Wuhan

China took the lion’s share of gold once more on the final day of the 7th Military Games in Wuhan, though Ukraine’s Sergii Frolov and Brazil’s Leonardo de Deus managed to muscle in on membership of the winners’ club.

Over 1500m freestyle, Frolov clocked 15:01.82 for the win, while de Deus took the 200m butterfly in 1:56.81.

In the men’s 200m backstroke, Li Guangyuan clocked 1:56.88 for the win, China then celebrating four more victories, courtesy of Chen Jie, Yu Jingyao, Wang Jianjiahe and the national mixed medley relay quartet.

Jie claimed gold in the 50m backstroke on 27.81, You in the 100m breaststroke, on 1:07.17, and Wang in the 800m freestyle on 8:24.82. The mixed medley relay clocked 3:43.64 to bring the curtain down on the pool part of the party.
