Leah Hayes Crushes 10&Under 200 Free NAG Record

The 10 and under girls 200 freestyle National Age Group record fell this afternoon. Leah Hayes posted a 2:14.87 to take down Claire Tuggle‘s 2015 mark.

Hayes’ splits:

31.27, 1:05.23 (33.96), 1:40.40 (35.17), 2:14.87 (34.47)

The 10 year old from USA Athletic Club Tidal Waves Swim Team won the event by 11 seconds at the 2016 Illinois Age Group Championships. Tuggle’s old record was a 2:16.30.

Tuggle still holds the National Age Group record in the 100 and 400 freestyle. Hayes won the 100 freestyle in 1:02.58, seven tenths shy of that record. She will swim the 400 as her last event of the weekend.
