Laszlo Cseh Sets Meet Record at Luxembourg Euro Meet

LUXEMBOURG – Laszlo Cseh provided the top swim of the day with a meet record in the men’s 100-meter fly at the Luxembourg Euro Meet.

Cseh claimed the meet record in the men’s 100-meter fly with a 52.57.  That swim pushed him to sixth in the early world rankings, and beat his own meet record of 52.58 set a year ago.

Melania Costa clipped Mireia Belmonte, 4:10.16 to 4:10.41, for the women’s 400-meter freestyle title.  Alice Mizzau claimed third in 4:11.12.

Miguel Duren followed with a 3:53.52 to win the men’s 400-meter free.  Jacob Heidtmann touched second in 3:54.65 with Velimir Stjepanovic placing third in 3:56.85.

Laura Riedemann clinched the women’s 50-meter back title in 29.46 with Mandy Feldbinder earning second in 29.68.  Selina Hocke wound up third in 29.87.

Carl Louis Schwarz took home the men’s 50-meter back crown in 25.66 to move to sixth in the early world rankings.  Gabor Balog finished second in 26.00 with Joe Elwood taking third in 26.34.

Zsuzsanna Jakabos clocked a 59.99 to win the women’s 100-meter fly.  Judith Ignacio finished second in 1:00.34 with Jana Zinnecker earning third in 1:01.49.

Konrad Czerniak touched second overall in 52.91 with Victor Bromer placing third in 53.24.

Jessica Vall cruised to victory in the women’s 100-meter breast with a 1:08.67, while Julia Willers finished second in 1:10.62.  Marlene Huether touched third in 1:10.71.

Marco Koch raced his way to the men’s 100-meter breast crown in 1:01.73.  Michael Jamieson (1:01.96) and James Wilby (1:01.97) didn’t make it easy with second and third-place finishes.

Sonnele Oeztuerk captured the women’s 200-meter back title in 2:10.36, blasting her meet record of 2:11.38 from prelims.  Brittany Horton took second in 2:15.30 with Africa Zamorano earning third in 2:16.59.

Gabor Balog picked up the men’s 200-meter back title in 2:02.38 with Alejandro Garcia taking second in 2:04.86.  Mark Fischer placed third in 2:05.65.

Nina Kost won the women’s 100-meter free in 56.18 with Jakabos taking second in 56.23.  Julie Meynen placed third in 56.35.

Paul Biedermann claimed the men’s 100-meter free crown in 50.03.  Mohamed Samy touched second in 50.51 with Magnus Westermann taking third in 50.91.

Carl Louis Schwarz, Kathrin Demler, Yannick Lindenberg and Leonie Kullmann captured the mixed 400-meter medley relay title in 3:58.68 to close out the meet.
