Kirill Prigoda Sets New National Record At Russian Olympic Trials

Kirill Prigoda set new National Record in prelims on day 3 of Russian Olympic Trials. Prigoda posted 27.26 which was 0.3 faster than previous record from super suit era in 2009. Currently it’s third fastest time in the world, behind only Cameron van der Burgh (27.08) and Adam Peaty (27.21).

Andrey Nikolaev was second (27.53) with Ilya Khomenko for third (27.82).

Arina Opyonysheva seeded first for the 200 free semis (1:59.62). She touched out Olympian Veronika Popova (1:59.76) who came in second. Victoria Andreeva with 2:00.18 was the third seed.

In men’s 200 fly Evgeny Koptelov qualified for semis with the best time – 1:58.66. Alexander Kudashev (1:59.11) and Nikolay Skvortsov (1:59.89) to follow him.

In her second race of the morning, Victoria Andreeva got first seed in the 200 Individual medley with 2:16.75. Kristina Vershinina was second (2:17.71), Anna Belousova with 2:18.42 got third.
