Katie Ledecky Returns to Former School Stomping Grounds; Inspires Next Generation

Olympic champion and world-record holder Katie Ledecky took time on Thursday and Friday to visit two of her former schools, Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart and Little Flower. During her visits, Ledecky answered student questions, discussed her days at the schools and spoke about work ethic, among other topics.

Since winning two gold medals and two silver medals at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Ledecky has taken a break from the intense training that has guided her to status as the greatest female swimmer in history. During her sabbatical, she has clearly given back to the schools and individuals who helped her through the years.

During her visits, Ledecky wore her Olympic medals from Tokyo and Team USA gear. On Twitter, Ledecky wrote: “Love these moments. Thanks Little Flower School and Stone Ridge School for the cheers and for all you have taught me through the years.”

In her latest trip to the Olympics, Ledecky captured gold medals in the 800 freestyle and 1500 freestyle. The victory in the 800 free was her third straight, making Ledecky just the fourth swimmer to three-peat in an event. In the 1500 freestyle, she became the inaugural female champion in the event. Ledecky added a silver medal in the 400 freestyle, where she engaged in a sensational duel with Australian Ariarne Titmus, and earned another silver in the 800 freestyle relay.
