Katie Ledecky, Caeleb Dressel, Simone Manuel Set for 2023 U.S. Open (Pysch Sheets)

Katie Ledecky, Caeleb Dressel and Simone Manuel are all listed on the psych sheets for the 2023 U.S. Open, released on Wednesday by USA Swimming.

The meet in Greensboro Nov. 29-Dec. 2 will be a star-studded affair with many of the premier American names present, augmented by international talent like Summer McIntosh.

Ledecky is entered in four events, the 800 free, 400 free, 200 free, and the 1,500 free. She’ll meet up with McIntosh in the 400 free.

Swimming for the Sarasota Sharks, McIntosh is also entered in the 200 breaststroke, 200 backstroke and 200 and 400 individual medley. (She’s not entered in the 200 free or the 200 fly, two events she swam at the World Championships last summer.)

With McIntosh, the 200 IM is one of the more loaded events on the women’s side. Kate Douglass, the reigning world champ, and silver medalist Alex Walsh are both entered, as is Regan Smith and Torri Huske among the American delegation.

Manuel is entered in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free. Her last major meet was the TYR Pro Championships in late July after withdrawing from Nationals in June.

Many of the top American women will be in attendance, including Gretchen Walsh, Lilly King, Lydia Jacoby, Erica Sullivan, Bella Sims and Claire Curzan. (Katie Grimes is one of the few notable absences.)

Dressel is back in the water after a long hiatus. He’s listed on the psych sheets in the 50 free, 10o free and 100 fly as he looks to build up to the Paris Olympic year.

Among the international talent in attendance is Hong Kong’s Siobhan Haughey, who is entered in the 50, 100, 200 and 400 free plus the 100 breast. Leon Marchand is entered in the 200 IM, 400 IM, 100 and 200 breast and 200 back.

In her comeback from a knee injury, Penny Oleksiak will swim under the flag of Mission Viejo. The Olympic gold medalist is entered in the 100 free. Also swimming for Mission Viejo is Canadian medalist turned Philippine international Kayla Sanchez, in the 100 back and the 50 and 100 free.

Tunisian double world champion Ahmed Hafnaoui will reprise his battles with Bobby Finke in the 400, 800 and 1,500 free.

Other internationals at the 2023 U.S. Open include Israel’s Anastasia Gorbenko, Poland’s Krzysztof Chmielewski and Michal Chmielewski, Canada’s Ilya Kharun, Nandor Nemeth of Hungary and male collegian sprinters Jordan Crooks of the Cayman Islands and Josh Liendo of Canada.
