2018 200 butterfly national champion Justin Wright will be moving across the United States from Tucson, Arizona to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, he confirmed with Swimming World. Wright will be moving from his alma mater at the University of Arizona to train with a growing postgrad group at the University of North Carolina that already includes two-time Worlds team member Michael Chadwick.

Wright burst on to the scene in the summer of 2018 after he exhausted eligibility at Arizona. He was crowned the national champion in the 200 butterfly with a 1:54.63, which put him sixth in the world that year. That swim also earned him a spot on the 2019 World Championships team, where he placed 18th in the 200 butterfly in missing the semi-finals. In 2019, he was ranked tenth in the US in the 200 butterfly.

Justin Wright will be chasing his first Olympic berth next summer, hoping to improve on his ninth place finish from 2016 when he missed the final by 0.14.
