The 200 IM heats showed the urgency in a lot of swimmers to get on the World Championship team. Cal’s Josh Prenot is not on the team yet and swam the fastest time in the morning of the 200 IM on Saturday. He went 1:57.63 to grab lane four in Saturday’s A-final in the 200 IM. Prenot was third in the 200 breast and seventh in the 100 breast earlier in the week. This is Prenot’s last chance to make the World Championship team.

Prenot will also get pressure in the final from Chase Kalisz who won the 400 IM on Thursday. Kalisz is the second seed at 1:58.17. This is also the last chance for NCAA champion Will Licon, who is the third seed at 1:58.54.

Abrahm DeVine (1:58.77), Gunnar Bentz (1:59.49), Michael Weiss (1:59.88), Jay Litherland (2:00.11) and Grant Sanders (2:01.26) will also swim in the A-final.
