Samy Helmbacher of Pittsburgh has been named the ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, and Notre Dame’s Joe Coumos has been selected as the Men’s Diver of the Week. On the women’s side, Jen Marrkand of Virginia has been tabbed as the ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week, and Cami Hidalgo has been named the Women’s Diver of the week.

Coumos placed first on both the 1-meter and 3-meter in Notre Dame’s meet against Georgia Tech. The Tomball, Texas, senior recorded a 333.90 in the 1-meter competition, and a 357.75 in the 3-meter competition for the Irish.

Marrkand helped No. 13 Virginia defeat both Pitt and LSU. The senior from Westford, Massachusetts, won five events in the meet, including three individual events and two relays. Marrkand touched the wall in 1:58.02 in the 200 fly, and 2:01.58 in the 200 IM, both NCAA provisional times.

Hidalgo won the 1-meter competitions against both No. 17 Notre Dame and Northwestern, and she placed first on the 3-meter against the Irish while finishing second in the event against the Wildcats. The freshman from Mission Viejo, California, defeated 2016 NCAA Champion and All-American Olivia Rosendahl of Northwestern on the 1-meter.
