The Texas Senior Circuit meet in College Station wrapped up Saturday evening as Jack Conger and Sydney Pickrem each posted strong performances in picking up individual wins.

Conger won the men’s 200 fly in 1:56.73, well ahead of North Texas Nadadores’ Jack LeVant. The former Texas ace was third in the event at U.S. Olympic Trials last summer. Third went to Nitro’s Sean Grieshop in 2:06.62.

Pickrem claimed the top spot in the women’s 200 IM in 2:11.28 as she continues to tune up to swim both IMs for Canada at the World Championships. Metro’s Vanessa Pearl (2:15.72) and Pickrem’s Texas A&M teammate Lisa Bratton (2:17.74) finished second and third, respectively.

Longhorn’s Clark Smith posted a strong time of 7:57.91 in the men’s 800 free, moving him into the top 30 in the world. However, Smith was swimming the 1500 free, and he ended up slowing down after the 800 and finishing third in 16:24.14. He did finish the race, though, after he got out of the water after 800 meters last week at the arena Pro Swim Series meet in Santa Clara.

Nitro’s Chris Yeager ended up winning the mile in 15:44.93, while North Texas Nadadores’ Colter Carman took second in 16:17.98.

Before she swam the 200 IM, Bratton had won the women’s 100 back in 1:01.47, ahead of Aggie teammates Sam Sienbenaller (1:03.89) and Sara Metzsch (1:06.00). Aggie’s Brock Bonetti took the men’s 100 back in 56.50, ahead of Longhorn’s Bryce Bohman (56.65) and Aggie’s Juan Rocha de Murga (59.00).

Aggie’s Sarah Gibson picked up the win in the women’s 200 fly, touching in 2:12.77. Texas Ford’s Ashlyn Fiorilli (2:15.61) was second, and North Texas Nadadores’ Natalie Whalen touched third (2:18.20).

Gabrielle Kopenski took first in the women’s 800 free for Texas Ford Aquatics, touching in 8:45.11. Magnolia’s Joy Field took second in 8:50.39, and third went to Magnolia’s Kaitlynn Sims in 8:58.75.

Aggie’s Austin Van Overdam edged out Nitro’s Sean Grieshop to win the men’s 200 IM, 2:05.26 to 2:05.66, while Aggie’s Benjamin Walker came in third at 2:06.20.

Aggie’s Kristen Malone took the win in the women’s 50 free, recording a time of 26.10. Western Hills’ Emma Wheal claimed second in 26.41, a tenth ahead of Aggie’s Katie Portz (26.51).

Aggie’s Jorie Caneta won the women’s 50 breast in 31.53 over Aggie’s Abby Surley (34.52) and Lakeside’s Lauren Savoy (34.76), while Aggie’s Jonathan Tybur finished in the top spot in the men’s 50 breast in 28.94, with teammate Jerik Wong (31.31) and Lakeside’s Donny Scott (31.39) completing the top three.

Notably, Longhorn’s Andrew Wilson led prelims of the men’s 50 breast with a 27.55 before scratching finals.

Results from the men’s 50 free were unavailable at press time.
