Swimming in his home pool, Jack Conger is in his first full season as a postgrad swimmer and he got his 2018 started with a win in the 100 fly in his home pool at the TYR Pro Swim Series. Conger swam a 51.80 to be the only swimmer to break 53 seconds in the event. Conger has not been known as a good in-season swimmer but swam a strong 100 fly to finish ahead of fellow Texas teammate Tripp Cooper (53.02).
Masayuki Umemoto (53.09), Bryce Bohman (53.36), Paul Le (54.26), Michael Andrew (54.30), Jacob Peters (54.53) and Ryan Held (54.81) also competed in the championship final.
Conger picked up points representing Kaitlin Sandeno‘s swim squad, as Andrew is also a swimmer on that team. Held represents Lenny Krayzelburg‘s swim squad.
