ISL Founder Konstantin Grigorishin Joins Inside with Brett Hawke Podcast

The final of the third season of the International Swimming League (ISL) will be held in Eindhoven on Friday and Saturday, so the timing of the latest episode of the Inside with Brett Hawke Podcast was perfect. In his latest interview with a major name in the sport, Hawke engaged in a discussion with Konstantin Grigorishin, the founder of the ISL.

During the 10-minute interview, Grigorishin discusses the reasons for launching the International Swimming League and how he wants to continue to grow the product. He indicated that he and the organizers of the league will look at ways to make the league even more exciting and noted that it will be important to increase the ISL’s audience.

With Energy Standard, the Cali Condors, London Roar and L.A. Current set to battle for the third-season championship, Grigorishin talked about long-term goals for the league, including unifying swimmers at the highest level of the sport with those who are novices and gaining a feel for swimming. Energy Standard and the Cali Condors claimed championships during the first two seasons.

Toward the end of the interview, Grigorishin focused on the importance of athletes within the sport enhancing their popularity. He emphasized the need for a culture change and to have athletes sell themselves in a greater way, including through social-media channels.
