MELBOURNE, Australia, March 27. THE Victorian Police Department has taken into custody a Ukrainian coach who was caught on film in a physical altercation with a swimmer, which turned out to be his daughter, at Rod Laver Arena. The incident took place before the Tuesday finals, with both individuals throwing punches at one another.
FINA revoked the credential of the coach and police have talked with the swimmer over the possibility of filing charges. The incident ended with the coach sitting on the swimmer, with her helplessly trying to get up.
