International Swimming League (ISL) Confirms Geographic Teams for All-Star Match

Just days after the International Swimming League (ISL) announced it will return with an All-Star Match in December in London, the league has revealed its planned format for the meet. The ISL website indicated that the All-Star Match will feature four teams based on geography: United States; Europe; Commonwealth; Rest of the World. More, the league noted that each team will consist of 24 swimmers, which reflects the roster size utilized during the first iteration of the ISL.

The league ISL initially ran from 2019-2021, conducting three seasons of action before going dormant in 2022. Multiple athletes have still not received payment for their participation in the third season, althought the ISL has indicated it will make those payments through four installments.

In its latest update about the All-Star Match, the ISL noted that the competition will take place during a two-hour format featuring 41 races. With 24 roster spots per team, it is expected that the geographic-based squads will each have 12 women and 12 men. The league’s website states that additional information is upcoming, including the names of the participating athletes, specific race format, how to watch and how to purchase tickets.
