Much to the pleasure of the crowd, young Hungarian Kristaf Milak powered to a new World Junior Record (WJR) in prelims of the men’s 100 fly.

Milak delivered a final time of 51.23 to slip past the previous record of 51.26 set by China’s Li Zhuhao at the 2017 Rio Olympic Games.

Splits:

  • Milak (2017): 23.90, 27.33 = 51.23

He returns as the number five seed for tonight’s 100 fly semi-finals.
