Henrik Christiansen Claims Seven First-Place Finishes at Norway Championships
Henrik Christiansen turned out an impressive 3:49.93 in the men’s 400-meter free, finishing 7.37 seconds ahead of the competition at the Norway Championships in Bergen.
Christiansen’s success did not stop there; he powered on to another six wins in the 400-meter IM (4:23.72), 1500-meter free (15:13.83), 200-meter IM (2:04.57), 200-meter free (1:50.92), 200-meter fly (2:04.72) and 800-meter free (7:59.71).
Cecilie Johannessen dominated on the women’s side, taking the win in each freestyle event except the 800-meter free (9:08.21) in which she was second. Johannessen took gold in the 50-meter free (25.41), 100-meter free (55.41), 200-meter free (2:00.34) and 400-meter free (4:22.19).
The men’s 50-meter breaststroke was a close race with Sverre Naess and Jorgen Scheie Brathen finishing .01 seconds a part. Naess got his hands to the wall first with a final time of 28.89. Brathen touched in 28.90.
Naess later added the men’s 200-meter and 100-meter breaststroke to his winnings. Naess turned in a 1:02.94 to win the 100, and posted a 2:16.31 in the 200.
Emilie Nyenget Lovberg won the women’s 200-meter fly with a final time of 2:17.54. Klara Farkas was second with a 2:18.82, while Augusta Lenea Remoy rounded out the top three with a 2:19.51.
The men’s 50-meter fly went to Runar Borgen who finished with a 24.31. Admin Porobic (24.44) and Niksja Stojkovski (24.49) joined him for second and third respectively.
