Stanford coach Greg Meehan discusses his team’s second place finish with David Rieder of Swimming World, noting that he is as proud of this team as any he has had in his eighteen years of coaching. Meehan acknowledges the adversity that came as a result of the DQ in the relay on the first night of the meet, but notes that his team’s response, and refusal to stop fighting is responsible for the rest of their successful meet. Meehan discusses Ella Eastin’s success as a freshman, as well as Lia Neal’s strong performances throughout her fourteen races of the weekend.
