After debuting at the 2000 Olympic Games as a 15-year-old in the 200-meter butterfly, where he finished fifth, Michael Phelps collected 28 medals over the next four Olympiads – Athens, Beijing, London and Rio de Janeiro. Of that total, 16 of the medals were of the individual variety.
In this edition of Friday FunDay, we are challenging our readers to name the events in which Phelps earned his 16 solo Olympic medals. Here’s a hint: At the 2004 and 2008 Games, he won medals in five individual events. Of course, the 2008 Games featured all gold as Phelps mined eight titles overall to set an Olympic record.
