Former Arizona Diver Michal Bower Transferring to Indiana

BLOOMINGTON – Indiana University head diving coach Drew Johansen announced today that Michal Bower will join the Hoosiers diving program in the fall of 2015. Bower will have two seasons of eligibility at Indiana.

“We are very excited to add Michal to the team,” Johansen said. “She is a proven NCAA contributor, a great student and passionate about becoming part of the rich IU diving tradition.”

Bower comes to IU from the University of Arizona where she was named the Pac-12 Women’s Diving Newcomer of the Year in 2014. She placed second on the 1-meter at the Pac-12 Championships as a freshman and fifth on the 3-meter.

This past season as a sophomore Bower qualified for the NCAA Championships where she placed 42nd in the 1-meter competition. She finished 12th on the 1-meter, 13th on the 3-meter and 11th on the platform at the Pac-12 Championships and was seventh on the 1-meter at the NCAA Zone E Championships.

Bower is a native of Loveland, Colorado and a graduate of Loveland High School where she was a three-time AAU National Champion and four-time state champion.
