Florida State Sweeps First Week of ACC Awards

Florida State’s Kanoa Kaleoaloha and Tyler Roberge were named the ACC Men’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. The Seminoles’ Alexi Smith was selected as the ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week and teammate Ayla Bonniwell was tabbed as the ACC Women’s Diver of the Week.

Kaleoaloha, a junior from Aiea, Hawaii, had eight top-three finishes in the All-Florida invite. His relay teams in the 200 free, 400 medley, 200 medley, 400 free and 800 free all finished in the top three. Individually, Kaleoaloha placed second in the 100 fly with a time of 48.27, and third in the 50 free (20.39) and 100 free (45.15).

Roberge placed first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events at the All-Florida Invite. The senior from Edmonton, Alberta, recorded a 327.60 on the 1-meter and a 351.30 on the 3-meter.

Smith swam in seven events, placing first in six. The senior from Lawrenceville, Georgia, helped the Seminoles to gold in the 200 free, 400 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relays. Smith also placed first in the 50 free with a time of 23.03, and the 100 free with a time of 50.29.

Bonniwell won both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions at the All-Florida Invite. The sophomore from Ithaca, New York, scored a 299.33 on the 1-meter and a 330.50 on the 3-meter.
