Due to the dangerous threat of Hurricane Michael, the Florida State swimming and diving teams will not be traveling to compete against Virginia Tech and Duke in Christiansburg, Va., on Saturday.

The Seminoles’ next meet will be October 20 at Minnesota in a Big Ten vs. ACC clash. After that they will be at home October 26 against another non-conference foe in Arizona State from the Pac-12, and will host in-state rival Florida from the SEC November 2.

The Virginia Tech, Duke tri-meet was the last remaining conference duel meet remaining on the Florida State schedule. They took down Pittsburgh last week and split with Georgia Tech with the Seminole women’s team coming out on top over the Yellow Jackets.

STATEMENT FROM DAVID COBURN

“All decisions on whether or not we will hold practices or competitions over the next several days will be based on the safety of the student-athletes, staff and fans. We have already canceled several events, but no determination has been made on whether Friday’s home soccer match will be affected at this time.”

Florida State Swimming and Diving contributed to this report.
