FINIS has launched SlipFin Pro

A new strapless swim fin designed to allow greater ankle flexibility, reduce bulk and create a more natural kicking experience

Livermore, CA — June 9, 2026 — FINIS today announced the launch of SlipFin Pro, a new swim fin that rethinks how fins fit and move with the swimmer.

The launch follows Swimming World’s recent look at FINIS’ next wave of innovation, when the brand teased a new fin design built around anatomy and a more natural feel in the water.

A New Approach to Swim Fins

Over the last decade, swim fins have generally become larger and more powerful. While they help swimmers build strength and go fast, the size of the fin and pressure at the Achilles tendon can limit ankle movement, creating a feel that can be very different from swimming without fins.

SlipFin Pro was created with a simple goal: make fin-assisted swimming feel more natural.

With this unique innovation, FINIS has once again broken new ground in a shape-shifting new tech.

Strapless Design Built Around the Foot

Featuring a patented strapless design, SlipFin Pro slips over the top of the foot without the need for a heel cup or straps. When wet, the fin conforms naturally to your foot, creating a gentle vacuum effect that helps keep it securely in place.

The result is a lightweight fin that moves with the swimmer, allowing for a full range of ankle motion and a more natural kicking experience.

“The goal wasn’t to make a bigger or more powerful fin,” said John Mix, CEO of FINIS. “We wanted to create a fin that feels lighter, allows the ankle to move freely, and helps swimmers feel more connected to the water.”

James Guy, Meg Harris, Shayna Jack, and Clément Secchi, among others recently tested the SlipFin Pro. Judging from positive comments and feedback from these Olympians ,  FINIS Founder John Mix has once again produced a breakthrough fin for beginners and future Gold Medalists alike.

Designed for Natural Ankle Movement

Without a heel cup or strap, swimmers are free to point, flex, and move their ankles naturally throughout the kick. The streamlined design also reduces bulk, creating a comfortable training experience that supports rhythm, timing, and feel in the water.

One swim, and you’ll feed the difference.

That focus on feel connects directly to the product direction FINIS had been hinting at in its early-access launch campaign, which Swimming World covered in its recent feature on FINIS’ new approach to swim fins.

Key Features of SlipFin Pro

Strapless Fit — A simple dip, slip, and squeeze application creates a secure and comfortable hold.

Natural Movement — No heel cup allows for unrestricted ankle flexibility and range of motion.

Lightweight Design — Reduces bulk while maintaining effective propulsion.

Comfortable Training Experience — Designed to move naturally with the swimmer throughout every kick.

A fin feeling you will immediately fall in love with.

Built for Swimmers Across the Sport

Whether learning to swim, training for competition, or swimming for fitness, most swimmers have spent time in a pair of fins. SlipFin Pro was designed to make that experience more comfortable, more natural, and more enjoyable.

SlipFin Pro will be available beginning June 2026 through FINIS and select partners.
