The top-seeded Americans, who set a world record of 3:40.28 in prelims, will send out a full new lineup. Ryan Murphy, Kevin Cordes, Kelsi Worrell and Mallory Comerford swam in prelims, but the finals’ roster will include Matt Grevers, Lilly King, Caeleb Dressel and Simone Manuel.
Elsewhere, Mitch Larkin, Daniel Cave, Emma McKeon and Bronte Campbell will race for second-seeded Australia as they try to chase down the Americans.
For Canada, world record-breaking backstroker Kylie Masse will lead off, while Penny Oleksiak will swim butterfly. Great Britain, meanwhile, brings out not-so-secret weapon Adam Peaty for the breaststroke leg.

Definitely see some bias by Meehan on relays. He used Ledecky on400 free relay without her proving it this year and now he is using Simone over Mallory when Mallory led of relay even faster than the time she did beating Simone at Nationals. IMO, not fair
Simone is USA’s most experienced female sprint freestyle anchor and has multiple gold medals (earned anchoring relays).
Most recently, compare Simone’s anchor leg on Day 1of these World Championships on the women’s 4X100 free relay. Simone’s anchor time is 52.14
Contrast that time with Comerford’s anchor leg of the 4 X 100 Mixed Medley relay during the prelims (morning heats) on Day 4. Comerford’s anchor time is 52.82
(That’s almost 7 tenths slower). That’s a huge factor why she was not chosen to anchor the finals of the 4X100 Mixed Medley Relay.
Oh, and the final anchor time for Simone as the USA smashed the previous World record to win gold is 52.17 (4X100 Mixed Medley Relay).
Experience matters. Consistency Matters. Once again, Simone delivered an outstanding anchor time.
