FINA Short Course World Championships: Day 3 Finals Heat Sheets

Heat sheets for day three finals of the 2016 FINA Short Course World Championships in Windsor, Canada are now available and can be downloaded here.

  • Men’s 100 IM Semi-Finals
  • Women’s 200 Back FINAL
  • Men’s 50 Free Semi-Finals
  • Women’s 50 Fly Semi-Finals
  • Men’s 100 Fly FINAL
  • Women’s 100 IM Semi-Final
  • Men’s 50 Back Semi-Final
  • Women’s 800 Free FINAL
  • Mixed 4×50 Medley Relay FINAL

Athletes will vie for the medal podium in six of the eleven events tonight, while athletes of the remaining five events will be looking to secure spots in finals of upcoming sessions.

Marco Koch of Germany enters the men’s 200 breaststroke final as the top seed after a 2:03.69 showing in prelims. Koch will be looking to add a second gold medal to his collection and chase his 2:00.44 World Record from November.

Australia’s Brittany Elmslie and Canada’s Penny Oleksiak enter the women’s 100 free final tied for the top seed with a time of 52.19. Oleksiak will have the crowd behind her as she looks to secure another medal for Canada.

Daryna Zevina of Ukraine and Katinka Hosszu of Hungary are set for a showdown in finals of the women’s 200 backstroke with the top two seed times. The two continually exchanged the SCM title in the 200 back throughout the 2016 FINA World Cup Series, setting the crowd up for a great race.

The men’s 100 fly final is highlighted by a talented field as the USA’s Tom Shields, Great Britain’s Adam Barrett, South Africa’s Chad le Clos, and more enter ranked within one second of each other.

One day after setting a new American Record in the women’s 800 SCM free Leah Smith is back and looking to continue her domination of the women’s 800 free. American teammate Ashley Twichell joins her in the middle of the pool as the second place seed.

The evening will conclude with the mixed 4×50 medley relay with the USA, Russian Federation, Brazil, and Canada returning as the top seeds after a quick morning.
