The 2016 Army West Point Swim Camp is directed by Head Coach Mickey Wender.  In his 26th year as an NCAA head coach, Coach Wender has coached at all levels of competitive swimming, from summer league to the Olympic Games.  He has also coached swimmers to the NCAA Division I Championship Meet in every event.

“The Army West Point Swim Camp is a one-of-a-kind experience for all swimmers.  Campers will learn the skills necessary to take their swimming to the next level, in and out of the pool.  Three daily swim sessions are focused on the most up-to-date technique instruction; teaching all four strokes, starts, and turns.  Our professional staff will also expose athletes to “hidden training;” nutrition, goal setting, dryland training and much more.  All camp sessions and a wide variety of extracurricular activities (including an open water swim at Delafield Pond) will take place on the hallowed grounds of the United States Military Academy.”

New to 2016 will include additional dryland with Army captain Michael Giffin.  We’ll introduce sprint and power training, advanced techniques and underwater skills, and the Vasa Swim Trainer.  By popular demand, we’ll debut the Coach’s Eye video review.  “Coach’s Eye is hand-crafted by a small team, passionate about helping coaches and athletes take their game to the next level. We work every day to make Coach’s Eye your favorite coaching tool.”  We’ll use Coach’s Eye to video every athlete at camp. We’ll analyze their technique, suggest individualized improvements, and provide instant and visual feedback.
