Eindhoven Cup: Sprint Shootouts Featured
EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, November 28. THE sprint shootouts took place during the second day of long course meter swimming at the Eindhoven Cup.
Ranomi Kromowidjojo beat Anja van der Hout, 28.78 to 29.80, in the women's 50 back, while Randall Bal downed Bastiaan Lijesen, 24.81 to 25.92, in the men's 50 back. In the 50 flies, Inge Dekker beat Amit Ivry, 26.29 to 26.62, among the women's draw, while Fred Bousquet downed Evgeny Korotyshkin, 23.67 to 23.76, in the men's tourney. Notably, Sabir Muhammad placed fourth in the 50 fly shootouts with a 24.42.
In other competition, Femke Heemskerk touched out Hannah Miley, 2:00.23 to 2:00.60, in the women's 200 free, while Filippo Magnini held off Glen Surgeloose, 1:50.05 to 1:50.48, in the men's 200 free.
Miley surfaced victorious in the women's 200 breast with a 2:32.35. Yuliya Banach (2:32.45) and Anastasia Korotkov (2:32.60) touched just behind her in second and third. Devi Wolthuizen snatched the men's 200 breast title in 2:19.05.
Miley claimed her second gold medal with a 2:15.99 in the women's 200 IM to win the event going away, while Yakov-Yan Zurablov captured the men's 200 IM in 2:04.59.
