Dylan Sali Among Winners at Day One of Romanian National Championships

Although it was a small first session, the first day of the Romanian National Championships saw a large variety of winners.

Amel Melhi claimed gold in the women’s 50-meter back with a quick 29.39. Laura Poulet took second with a 30.20, while Christine Andreea Nicolae was third with a 30.73.

First in the men’s 50-meter back went to Dylan Sali and his 25.64 finish. Robert Andrei Glinta was second overall with a 26.04, while Paul Ungur rounded out the top three with a 26.19.

Beatrice Sabina Bocan dominated the women’s 400-meter IM with a time of 5:04.56, finishing 5.66 seconds ahead of the competition. Alexandra Dobrin claimed second with a 5:10.22, Denise Elena Gogu finished third with a 5:16.31.

Alexandru Costel Badeata won the men’s 400-meter IM with a 4:31.96. Florin Alexandru Raiu was second with a 4:33.05, while Bogdan Mihai Petre posted a 4:33.31 for third.

Nicolae posted a 1:03.86 to win the women’s 100-meter fly. Bianca Izabella Raduta turned in a 1:04.33 for second, and Dobrin took third with a 1:04.97.

Alexandru Coci grabbed first in the men’s 100-meter fly with a 53.33. Teimuraz Kobakhidze finished second overall with a time of 55.62, while George Eduard Barbu was third with a 56.17.
