Distance Freestyler Luke Landis Transfer from Fresno Pacific to Denison
NEW TRANSFER: Upper Arlington, Ohio native Luke Landis has announced his decision to transfer from Fresno Pacific University to Denison University. He will enter the 2020-21 season as a sophomore for the Big Red.
He told Swimming World:
“I’m proud to announce my transfer to Denison University to join the class of 2023! I want to thank my friends, family, and coaches who have supported me through this process! Go Big Red!”
Landis competed in six meets for Fresno Pacific, the last being the UNLV Invitational where he earned silver in the 1650 free en route to achieving four best times. He had a trio of top-3 finishes in a tri-meet with Fresno State and Pacific in November and placed third in the mile at the Pacific Invite in October.
His best times include:
- 200 free – 1:43.90
- 500 free – 4:31.87
- 1650 free – 15:35.88
Landis competed year-round with Upper Arlington Swim Club and was a Winter Juniors qualifier and placed fifth in the 1500m free at Geneva Futures last summer. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 2019 where he competed at the Ohio State Championship during his junior and senior seasons.
