Swimming World caught up with U.S. Olympic coach David Marsh at the ASCA World Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale. Marsh, less than a month removed from returning home from Rio, took some time to look back on the entire summer.

Marsh explained what made the team so successful over the eight-day meet in Rio, where the U.S. team took home 33 medals, 16 of them gold, and he identified a few specific leaders that helped maintain the excellent team chemistry.

Marsh also discussed Kathleen Baker’s breakthrough summer which ended with her getting a silver medal in the 100 back and also picked out his favorite moment from the Games. Marsh also discussed what he’s been up to since returning to the states.

What was not discussed on camera was the rumor that Marsh accepted the job has Head Swim Coach for Israeli Swimming. Swimming World confirmed that the rumor was unfounded. Marsh did say that he is always willing to consult with international programs, such as Israel, but he is firmly committed to SwimMac as its Head Coach.

“I feel that consulting is something that I would like to do and is a logical progression in my career, just like Coach Bob Bowman consulted with Turkey.  I will always look at those opportunities, including Israeli,” said Marsh.

That cheater, Marsh, should move on to Israel. That’s right up his alley.

Sounds like he just hasn’t accepted the job yet. Unfounded, (“that Marsh accepted the job”) , but not discussed on camera. This article http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-4852262,00.html describes the agreements expectations of Israel. This story isn’t over yet.

What did Swimming World confirm? That Marsh isn’t taking the job or that he hasn’t accepted it yet.
