Olympian Dana Vollmer Announces Second Pregnancy, Due July 2017

Three-time Olympian Dana Vollmer announced today, January 13, 2017, via Instagram that she and husband, Andy, are expecting their second child. The baby is due to be born in July 2017.

Vollmer, 29, gave birth to her first child, Arlen, in March of 2015 after a slight retirement in her post-London success. She returned to the water in June of 2015 at the Los Angeles Invite to test the waters and quickly picked up where she had left off. The five-time Olympic gold medalist qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics where she earned one of each medal.

Time to hang up the suit. Americans (Vollmer, Grevers, Weir, Natalie…) have the hardest time giving up a sport they’ve done everything in. Nothing left to prove and time to move out into the real world.
