In case you missed it, the men’s varsity water polo season kicks off this weekend. Just in time, Ed Haas, Director of Communications for the Collegiate Water Polo Association, has released the first of the CWPA’s weekly polls tracking the country’s top varsity programs.

There’s no surprises this year; Cal is on top by virtue of winning the 2016 NCAA Men’s title with an 11-8 overtime victory over University of Southern California.

The East’s top team is #10 Harvard, coming off its first-ever Final Four appearance thanks to wins over Bucknell and UC Davis in NCAAs—the Crimsons’ first-ever trip to the country’s biggest polo tournament.
