Crosswim Training

In an effort to sidestep swimmer burnout, Jonny Tunstall—1996 200 breaststroke British national champion, Arizona State University men’s swimming alumnus and associate head coach at Sun Devil Masters in Tempe, Ariz.—created an hour-long workout that combines high-intensity interval training, swimming, running, calisthenics and other related exercises.

The Crosswim workout gives swimmers of all skill levels the chance to mix up their workout routine and improve their performance. Being a swimmer doesn’t mean that you have to swim laps for hours to gain results; by adding some body-weight exercises and a little bit of cardio Tunstall has created a program that keeps athletes on their toes.
