Cole Reznick, Yixuan Chang Lead Duke Sweep of ACC Weekly Honors

Duke’s Cole Reznick and Yixuan Chang were named the men’s and women’s swimmer of the week, respectively, in the latest ACC Weekly Honors.

The Blue Devils wept all four of the weekly awards, taking the men’s and women’s diver awards via Seamus Harding Jr. and Margo O’Meara. The awards are the first for Duke this season in Week four of the ACC honors.

All the Blue Devils’ damage was done in dual meets with Boston College and UNC-Wilmington. Reznick, a senior from Pleasanton, Calif., won the 50 breaststroke, 100 individual medley, 200 IM and 400 IM as Duke topped BC, 276.5-141.5, and UNCW, 252-160. Reznick was also second in the 100 breaststroke. He swam legs on both of Duke’s winning medley relays. Reznick’s time in the 100 IM (50.46) is a Duke program record.

Harding one all three diving events at the meet. A sophomore from Hillsborough, N.J., he topped out points wise on 3-meter with a score of 358.10 points. He also won 1-meter by tallying 331.10 points and platform with a 344.70 score.

On the women’s side, Duke topped Boston College, 283-132, and UNCW, 287-172. Chang was first in all four of her individual races, the Stamford, Conn., native winning the 200 freestyle, 200 butterfly, 200 IM and 400 IM (the latter as an exhibition swim). Chang is 7-for-7 in individual races in her brief college career.

Her fellow freshman O’Meara led the way with a pair of springboard wins. She scored 335.10 in besting the 1-meter field, then tallied 377.70 on 3-meter. O’Meara, who hails from St. Louis, finished third on platform. Both scores improve on O’Meara’s college debut the week prior against Virginia Tech.
