In a back and forth fight with the Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls, the Arizona State Sun Devils came up with a close split decision. The men came up with a close 152.5-145.5 victory, while the women fell short in a 146-152 score.

Men’s Meet:

The Sun Devils started the meet off on the right foot with a win in the 200 medley relay. A team of Richard Bohus, Christian Lorenz, Tadas Duskinas, and Patrick Park touched first with a time of 1:29.67, a full second ahead of the Wyoming men. Senior Juan Tolosa followed with a win in the 1000 free (9:27.58), while junior Barkley Perry took the 200 free (1:39.51) and the 200 back (1:47.90).

Bohus, a junior, took the 100 back (49.15) and the 100 free (44.78). While Park, a sophomore, logged a victory in the 200 fly (1:47.12), which is also an NCAA B cut. Sophomore diver David Hoffer claimed the 3-meter board (342.75) and the 1-meter (328.65).

Wyoming made a late charge for the victory, but the Sun Devils held them off to claim the win.

Women’s Meet:

The women also started off strong by claiming second and third in the 200 medley relay, while senior Anna Olasz went a 10:14.31 in the 1000 free to take the event. The Sun Devils then swept the 200 free, led by junior Indira Ceranic (1:50.83). Junior Ingibjorg Jonsdottir followed suit by taking the 100 back in a time of 55.12.

Jonsdottir’s win would be the last for the Arizona State women until sophomore diver Mara Aiacoboae claimed the 1-meter board with a total score of 288.53. She later went on to take the 3-meter board, as well (306.90).  Junior Alysha Bush then went on to take the 100 free (50.47), followed by senior Jennifer Morgan‘s victory in the 200 back (2:01.70).

Junior Katarina Simonovic took the 500 in a 500.41 and team of Bush, Simonovic, Ceranic, and Marina Spandoni took the 400 free relay in a time of 3:25.46, but the Wyoming Cowgirls amassed too many second and third place finishes for the meet to fall in the Sun Devils favor.
