Chena Swim Club Hires Chad Webb as Head Coach
NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia, September 10. THE Board of Directors of Chena Swim Club has announced the hiring of Chad Webb as Chena's newest head coach.
Webb joins Chena after serving as head coach at the Fort St. John Inconnu Swim Club the past four years. He also helped establish the Energy North Swim Association, acting as its executive director, during the past two years.
During his tenure at Inconnu, the club more than doubled in size to about 100 swimmers and won British Columbia Swim Club of the Year honors in 2005-06. Prior to that, Webb served as assistant coach of the Kamloops Aquatic Club and head coach of the Williams Lake Blue Fin Swim Club.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to build on the incredible momentum that Chena has developed over the past few years with Craig Potsep at the helm," Webb said.
Chena has developed four senior national qualifiers in the past year, had three athletes selected to BC's winning team at the 2007 Western Canada Games and six selected to the 2007 Short Course Provincial team, placed first at the 2007 TAS Short Course Provincial Championships and fifth at the 2006 SNC Age Group Championships in the girls team divisions and currently holds seven Provincial age group relay records all set within the past two-and-a-half years.
