Campbell University Announces Four Signees for 2015-2016 Season

BUIES CREEK – Campbell University head coach Pascal Molinard has announced the team’s early signee class, including Caylee Addison (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley HS), Taylor McMinn (Brunswick, Ga./Frederica Academy), Cristina Pereda (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles HS) and Karah Sizemore (Stafford, Va./Stafford HS).

“These four are going to really help us with an immediate impact next season, as well as make our team stronger for the future,” said Molinard. “This is a very talented, well rounded class that will complete our team and fill in what we are losing in our seniors.”

Caylee Addison is a distance freestyler and backstroker from Arvada, Colo. Addison is a three-time all-conference performer at Ralston Valley High School, and coached by Brett Stoyell and Annie Brown. The 5-foot-9 Addison is a four-year letterwinner with the Mustangs, and plans an accounting major at Campbell.

Cristina Pereda is a sprint freestyler from Tallahassee, Fla. helped Lawton Chiles High School to four 3A state championships. The Timberwolves also collected four regional championships, two district titles and two district runner-up finishes.

During her senior season, Pereda boasted times of 24.78 in the 50 free, 52.20 in the 100 free, 1:54.09 in the 200 free, 5:08.65 in the 500 free and 1:00.68 in the 100 fly. Coached by Amanda Meyer, the National Honor Society member plans to major in chemistry or physics at Campbell.

Taylor McMinn will come to Buies Creek from Brunswick, Ga. Expected to compete in the breaststroke with the Camels, McMinn has been coached by Karen Parks at Frederica Academy, located in St. Simons Island, Ga. A state champion in the GISA 100 breaststroke and the 500 freestyle, McMinn plans a kinesiology major at Campbell.

Finally, Karah Sizemore is a Stafford, Va. native coached by Jonathan Raymond at Stafford High School. Sizemore was named the Indians’ team MVP as a sophomore, and in 2014, she led SHS to a district championship.

The honor roll student and National Honor Society member will swim the backstroke, fly and distance freestyle at Campbell. Sizemore broke the Stafford High 500 free record in 2013, and again as a junior with a time of 5:10.01.

Campbell will wrap up the 2014-15 regular season at James Madison, Jan. 31. The meet will be the Camels’ final tune-up before heading to the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships on Feb. 18.
