The Cali Condors of the International Swimming League have announced a trio of new signings to their 2020 roster with Marcin CieslakMeghan SmallKelly Fertel as well as the re-signing of European champion backstroker Radoslaw Kawecki. This comes a day after announcing the signings of NCAA champions Beata NelsonErika BrownJustin Ress and Coleman Stewart.

Marcin Cieslak was an NCAA Champion at the University of Florida and will reunite with former coach Gregg Troy on the Condors as the Polish champion will add butterfly depth alongside fellow Pol and former Florida swimmer Jan Switkowski. Cieslak was the 2014 NCAA champion in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly.

The Condors have a big Polish influence on their team as Cieslak will join the likes of freestyler Kacper Majchrzak and backstroker Kawecki as well as woman sprinter Kasia Wasick on the team next season. Kawecki posted on his Instagram his re-signing with the team.

Former Tennessee swimmer Meghan Small, who just finished her career with the Volunteers having been seeded third in the 200 IM and eighth in the 400 IM, and was also potentially going to lead Tennessee to its highest national finish in school history. Small helped Tennessee win its first ever SEC women’s team title in 2020 and will be joining fellow Vols Erika Brown and Molly Hannis on the Condors. Small should add IM depth to the team alongside American record holder Melanie Margalis as the Condors had the top women’s team in the ISL last season.

Small should also add backstroke depth to the Condors after Kylie Masse left the team to join the newly-added Toronto Titans. Small led off Tennessee’s national championship winning 200 medley relay in 2019.

Former Florida swimmers Kelly Fertel and Sherridon Dressel will also be joining the Cali Condors. Fertel, an IM specialist, will add depth to the team as well. She was seeded 20th in the 400 IM and 22nd in the 200 IM at NCAAs before the meet was cancelled.

Sherridon Dressel will join her brother Caeleb on the team as the Condors have a big Florida Gator influence on their roster. Dressel was seeded fourth in the 100 back, fifth in the 200 back, and ninth in the 100 fly at NCAAs before the meet was cancelled. Dressel should be a big boost to the team in the backstroke events after the departure of Canadian Kylie Masse.

The Cali Condors finished third at the Las Vegas final last season as the team had world record holders Caeleb Dressel and Lilly King as headliners. With these latest American and European additions, the Condors look like an early favorite among American teams in the upcoming ISL season.
