PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island, May 26. BROWN University has announced that it will construct a $35 million swimming and diving facility where the current Smith Swim Center stands. Earlier this year, structural problems forced the closure of the Swim Center. While the new facility is built, Brown will construct a temporary training facility. The new swim center is targeted to be opened in the summer of 2010.
