Coach Hawke also discusses his post-grad group and his love of the Godfather.

In his sixth full year as head coach of Auburn swimming & diving, Coach Hawke led the Auburn men to a sixth-place finish at the 2014 NCAA Championships, including guiding the Tigers’ 400 freestyle relay to a NCAA title. He also coached the Auburn women to another top-15 finish at the NCAA Championships and 12 All-America honors.

As a freshman, Patching made his first career appearance at the NCAA Championships, competing in the 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM and 200 medley relay. He earned first career individual All-America selection, placing 11th overall in the 200 back with a time of 1:40.67, the eighth-best time in school history. Patching also represented Great Britain at the European Junior Championships in Antwerp, Belgium winning gold in the 200m backstroke and helping the Great Britain’s 4×100 medley relay team to a bronze medal finish. Patching owns three British age group records in the backstroke events.
