Boise State, Nevada Duel for Mountain West Conference Victory

With Nevada and Boise battling for who will claim the Mountain West Conference title, this morning set up both teams for an exciting night.

In the women’s 200 back, Ugne Mazutaityte of Fresno State will go into tonight with the top seed, posting a 1:55.88 to outtouch Allyson Kleinsorgen of Boise who was 1:56.18. Samantha Wicks of Boise will go in third with a 1:56.23

In the 100 free, Michelle Troup of UNLV will go in as the top seed with a 49.19. She was followed closely by Whitney Weisz of San Diego State who posted 49.28. Rebecca Murray of Nevada was third in 49.50.

In the 200 breast, Yawen Li came off of her victory in the 400 IM to nab the top spot with a time of 2:12.67. She is closely followed by Maria Harutjunjan of Wyoming who won the 100 breast last night. This morning Harutjunjan posted a 2:13.99. They are followed by Arantxa Medina of Nevada who swam a 2:14.60 this morning.

Sita Kusserow of Nevada claimed the top seed in the 200 fly, cracking the 2-minute mark with a time of 1:59.59 which was exactly the NCAA B-standard. She was followed by Molly Coonce of Wyoming who also cracked the 2-minute barrier by getting her hand on the wall just in time, posting a 1:59.99. Erin Fuss of Nevada grabbed the third seed in 2:00.01.

The final night of finals will take off at 6:30, with the top 8 seeded milers swimming tonight while the rest of the milers will swim this afternoon.
