“We are not quite right on the men’s team yet, we are not all healthy,” said head swimming coach Frank Busch. “The women are all set though; they had a really good meet. I knew that Cal would be really good, but this is the time of year when we have to come ready to compete.”

In the diving well, junior John Collier was the single male competitor from the Arizona squad. Collier won both events finishing with 310.35 points on the 1-meter board and 368.32 points on the 3-meter. “John’s 3-meter performance was outstanding,” said Mitchell-Rocha. “This shows that he can be a force on either board.”

“Today was an opportunity to get the bugs out,” said Mitchell-Rocha. “Stanford has a strong team which will make competition challenging for both teams tomorrow.”
