Aukai Lileikis Claims Second Individual Win During Day Three of Federal Way Sectionals

FEDERAL WAY– Aukai Lileikis claimed his second individual win during day three of the Federal Way Sectionals.

Day three at Federal Way began with a quick women’s 200 free. Ashley Sutherland of Kings Aquatic Club and Ellie Thornbrue of Hillsboro Heat Swim Team dashed to a quick finish but it was Sutherland who won out. Sutherland touched the wall in 1:48.27 just in front of Thornbrue’s 1:48.66. Andi Johnston of Fort Collins finished third with a 1:49.35.

Aukai Lileikis of Aulea Swim Club claimed gold in the men’s 200 free with a 1:36.10, a three second drop from his prelim time. Central Area Aquatics Tommy Thach finished second with a 1:37.87, while Thomas Brewer of Current Swimming was third with a 1:37.97.

Fort Collins Area’s Bailey Nero swam to victory in the 400 IM with a swift 4:12.39, a full three seconds ahead of the competition. Teammate Bailey Kovac claimed second with a 4:15.39. Bellevue Club’s Kimberly Williams took third with a time of 4:17.76.

Abraham Devine of Cascade Swim Club finished first in the men’s 400 IM with a time of 3:47.97 but was unable to break his own Western Sectionals record of 3:45.46 from 2014. Devine succeeded in dropping almost six seconds from his prelims time of 3:53.62. Keegan Foulke of Jeffco Hurricane was second with a 3:50.70, while Multnomah Athletic’s Tristan Furnary grabbed third with a 3:52.60.

The Dolphins 200 free relay team of Alayna Connor (23.11), Jordan Ashmore (23.30), Lindsay Swail (23.48) and Sierra Sexton (22.58) claimed gold with a 1:32.47. Fort Collins Area finished second with a 1:34.64, while Bellevue Club grabbed third with a 1:34.69.

Kings Aquatic Club swam to another first place finish in the 200 free relay. The men’s relay team of Mathias Oh (20.31), Thomas Anderson (19.40), Dale Williams (21.02) and Zachary Wagner (19.76) finished with an impressive 1:20.49, only .60 seconds off Scottsdale Aquatic Club’s Western Sectional record of 1:19.79. Charger Aquatics claimed second with a 1:23.72, while Bellevue Club was third with a 1:24.83.
