MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, March 9. THE Auburn Tigers went one up, one down on the three-meter springboard to help themselves in the team title hunt at the women's NCAA Division I Championships on Friday afternoon.
Lynnsey Segraves edged Indiana's Christina Loukas by .05 points for the final transfer spot into the championship final with a 334.95 performance.
Meanwhile, Stanford's Cassidy Krug put herself into position for a second straight diving title by scoring a top effort of 372.90 points. Hawaii's Megan Farrow placed second with 356.90 points, while Houston's Nastia Podzniakova took third in 352.15.
The rest of the championship final will include Indiana's Lindsay Weigle, Texas' Mary Yarrison, Purdue's Amanda Miller and Texas' Jessica Livingston.
Auburn's other diving points came from a second-place finish (10th overall) in the consolation dive with a total of 356.05 points. Notably, Loukas, who suffered a pair of low dives during prelims, came out determined with a 382.50 in prelims to capture ninth overall. That effort would have put her in first out of prelims and broke the NCAA record for the format.
