Ashley Twichell of the TAC Titans cranked out a very strong 800 free win on the first night of the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville. Twichell posted an 8:32.27 to win the 800 free on the first stop of the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series.
Twichell took advantage of the race that had no Katie Ledecky and no Leah Smith as she won ahead of a pair of teenagers in Erica Sullivan (8:37.39) and Mariah Denigan (8:38.14).
Becca Mann placed fourth for Unattached Arizona State with an 8:39.73, which is a tick faster than what she went at Nationals this summer.
Tennessee’s Amanda Nunan (8:45.19), Magnolia’s Kaitlynn Sims (8:49.23), Katrina Bellio (8:49.77) and Marit Anderson (8:51.50) placed in the top eight in the timed final event.
