Ashley Twichell, 2X World Champ, Re-signs with TYR Sport

TYR Sport is proud to announce the re-signing of 2x World Champion Ashley Twichell to its roster of sponsored athletes.

As a dynamic talent in both the pool and open water, Ashley Twichell has been one to watch since 2011. Earning her first international medals at the 2011 FINA Open Water World Championships in Shanghai, China, Twichell picked up gold in the 5k team pursuit and bronze in the individual 5k open water event. From there she went on to win a first place title for her 10k swim at both the 2012 and 2016 Open Water National Championships. In 2017, Twichell upped her call out to 2x World Champion with an impressive win at the 2017 FINA Open Water World Championships in Budapest. In addition to her individual win, she also scored a silver in the team pursuit.

Twichell went on to defend her 10k title at the 2018 Open Water National Championships, making it three straight national titles, with a time of 1:52.12.105. In the pool she also won the 1500m freestyle at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships, securing her berth on the 2019 World Championships team.

Most recently, Ashley turned heads at the first stop of the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville, TN, where she had major podium finishes in both the women’s 800m and 1500m freestyle events. Sporting the newly lane legal TYR VenzoTM, Ashley played a major role in helping to design the sport’s most highly anticipated technical suit.
