MT. HOOD, Oregon, July 10. ASHLEY Evans of Brophy East and Logan Storie of Corvallis Aquatics each walked away with an 800 freestyle title after the first night of the Mt. Hood Sectional.
Evans, 15, clocked a time of 8:52.46 to finish ahead of David Douglas' Jenni Stratton, who took second in 8:55.38. Brittney Iverson of Corvallis Aquatics wound up third in 8:59.00.
Storie stopped the clock in 8:18.91 for his triumph, while Carl Jones of Tri-City placed second in 8:22.61. Tyler Bush of Loveland Swim finished third in 8:36.18.
The long course meter competition continues through Saturday.
