Arena Signs Pan Pacific Gold Medalist Cammile Adams (Photo Gallery Included)

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, October 8. Pan Pacific Championship gold medalist Cammile Adams has signed an exclusive sponsorship deal with Arena USA. Details of the contract have not been released.

Adams, who won the 200-meter fly at the Pan Pacific Championships this summer with a final surge down the stretch to overtake Japan’s Nastumi Hoshi for a victorious 2:06.61.  Hoshi, who finished second in the world with a 2:05.98 from Japanese Nationals and earned bronze in the event at the 2012 London Olympics, faded back to second in 2:06.68.  Adams, who is now swimming at SwimMAC, also mentored U.S. youngster Katie McLaughlin to bronze in the event with the future California Golden Bear taking third in 2:07.08.

Adams made the 2012 Olympics in the 200-meter fly as well, taking fifth at the meet at the 2012 London Olympics behind Hoshi.  She’s been on other international trips as well, taking seventh in the 200-meter fly at the 2013 World Championships as well as finishing second in the event at the 2013 Duel in the Pool.  She also placed sixth in the 100 fly and seventh in the 400 IM during that exciting meet.

Adams had a strong collegiate career with the Texas A&M Aggies under head coach Steve Bultman, won the 200-yard fly NCAA title in both 2013 and 2014 after taking second in the event her freshman and sophomore years.

Portland, Oregon. Cammile Adams, the gold medalist at the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships and the two-time USA Swimming National Champion in the 200m fly, is the newest star swimmer to partner with Arena, the leading swimwear brand announced today. Adams has signed with Arena through 2016.

“I’m so proud to be a part of Team Arena as I continue to train for 2016,” said Adams, a member of Team USA in 2012. “Recently, I have loved watching Arena come into the U.S. and have really appreciated their support of the U.S. National Team and myself. I am very excited to team up with Arena and give back to a swimming community that has given me so much. Arena has been very supportive of my dreams and aspirations both in and out of the water, and this team is one I just had to be a part of.”
Adams, the fastest American 200m butterflier in 2013, concluded her NCAA career at Texas A&M in 2014, with two NCAA championships under her belt. She then successfully defended her National Championship in the 200m butterfly at the 2014 USA Swimming National Championships and went on to win gold in the event at the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships. Previously, Adams qualified for the 2012 team by winning the event at Trials and later finished fifth in London.
