Another SEC Weekly Award for Caeleb Dressel; Kira Toussaint Also Honored

Florida junior Caeleb Dressel and Tennessee senior Kira Toussaint have been named the SEC swimmers of the week for the span covering the last major stretch of dual meets for the conference. Read more about all SEC weekly award winners below.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Caeleb Dressel • Florida
Junior • Green Cove Springs, Florida

Against Tennessee, Dressel finished first in each of his four counted events. His signature 50 free time ranks second-best in the country (to his own 18.73 season-best) and gives him another A-cut in the event. Dressel also placed first with two B-cuts in the 200 free and 200 IM. In the 200 medley relay, he partnered with Jack Blyzinskyj, Chandler Bray and Jan Switkowski to put up a B-cut and season-best 1:25.83, which he anchored with a 18.37 freestyle split.

Male Diver of the Week
Liam Stone • Tennessee
Junior • Auckland, New Zealand

Stone swept both springboard events in a dual meet for the fifth time this season. He recorded over 400 on both boards in one dual meet for the first time in his career, with a score of 402.67 on the one-meter and a score of 417.90 on the three-meter.

Male Freshman of the Week
Chandler Bray • Florida
Avon, Indiana

Bray put up a pair of season-best times in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke, which were also B-cuts, to help Florida defeat Tennessee this past weekend. As the youngest member of the 200 medley relay for Florida, he helped total a season-best B-cut time for Florida in the event.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Kira Toussaint • Tennessee
Senior • Amstelveen, Netherlands

Toussaint helped lead the Tennessee women to the program’s first-ever road win at Florida in her final collegiate dual meet. She was on the winning 400 free relay to end the meet, which Tennessee used to come from behind to win the competition. Toussaint swam her first collegiate 200 backstroke of the season, doing so in an NCAA B-cut time. She also placed first in the 100 backstroke and as part of the 200 medley relay.

Female Diver of the Week
Nicole Gillis • Arkansas
Junior • Johannesburg, South Africa

Gillis dominated on the boards once again, notching two NCAA Zone scores on the one- and three-meter boards. She recorded the second-best score in school history on the three-meter, breaking her personal best with a score of 347.93. Gillis now has 17 zone qualifying scores this season, with at least one in all three diving events.

Female Freshman of the Week
Megan Small • Tennessee
Lineboro, Md.

Small won three events in a meet for the second time this season. She won her first collegiate 500 free, and recorded an NCAA B-cut time in both the 200 free and 200 IM in Tennessee’s win over Florida.
