Anna Moesch Clocks Personal Best in Prelims of 100 Freestyle at AP Race London
Make it three events and just as many career bests for Anna Moesch at the AP Race London International, with the opportunity for another PR to come. Having already set personal-best times in the 50-meter freestyle (24.27) and 200 freestyle (1:55.81) during the first two days of the meet at the London Aquatic Centre, Moesch went 53.23 during Monday’s prelims of the 100 freestyle.
A standout at the University of Virginia, Moesch prelims marker was .02 faster than her previous top time, the 53.25 she managed earlier this month at the Fort Lauderdale Open. The New Jersey native has established herself as one of the most-promising prospects in the American arsenal, a positive scenario on the road to the 2028 United States Olympic Trials in Indianapolis.
In March, Moesch helped propel Virginia to its sixth consecutive NCAA team title by claiming the title in the 200-yard freestyle and playing a key role on four victorious relays. Now, she has shifted her attention to the long-course pool, enjoying similar success. Moesch enters the final of the 100 freestyle in London ranked fifth in the world in the 100 free, and with her first sub-53 performance within reach.
